The Ord River Marathon June 9, 2019

More than a dragon boat paddle, the Ord River Marathon is a 55-kilometer paddling event that takes paddlers along the Ord River in the Kimberley Region.

Starting at Lake Argyle and along to Kununurra in stunning Western Australia, paddlers from Dragons Abreast Brisbane will see breathtaking landscapes.

While most people choose to take in the spectacular native scenery of wildlife, flora, and fauna via river cruise, our breast cancer survivors are doing it with a show of strength – paddling The Ord in dragon boats.

Our paddlers will commence their river marathon at Lake Argyle, a lake that spans more than 18 times the size of Sydney Harbour and complete their journey at the wetlands of Lake Kununurra, an iconic Australian location.

MBT’s paddlers are deep in preparation for the long paddle that will see them cover altering water flow and take in beautiful, bold red landscape in the heart of Australia.

We can’t wait to hear all about it!
